The 51st Focus Art Show (Once known as EXPRESSIONS)?is one of the longest-running and largest high school art shows in Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan. For the past 51 years, teachers from districts all over the region have been showing their support for their students by submitting their artwork to the Focus Art Show. This show celebrates the passion that both students and teachers have for the visual arts by displaying the leading high school student's artwork.?
We believe the healing power of the ARTS raises visual awareness about how the ARTS enhance the well-being of individuals, society, and the environment.? We believe ART & ARTISTS have the power to heal, inspire, provoke, challenge and offer hope.? ART reflects our lives, helps us communicate, makes us happy, tells our stories, triggers our emotions, challenges our boundaries, and evokes our imaginations. In this day and age, we as teachers are charged with the honor of being a positive light in children's lives. ART encompasses the human experience, and makes a profound impact on history, as visual proof of how we are all connected.? We strongly believe that now more than ever advocating and promoting the education of the ARTS will help drive a direction for children, to honor and be present in their learning.? We feel through art, art history and art processes, we can teach them to have a robust visual vocabulary that will ignite a world of better digital citizens.?
